- Adults with localised fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise
- Good skin tone and elasticity for optimal contouring
- Healthy BMI, typically under 30, without medical contraindications
The procedure
- Tumescent solution injected to reduce bleeding and discomfort
- Small incisions for cannula insertion
- Fat aspirated using power-assisted or ultrasound-assisted techniques
- Areas compressed post-operatively
Recovery
- Compression garments worn for 4–6 weeks
- Swelling peaks at 3–5 days; gradual improvement over weeks
- Return to work after 3–7 days depending on extent
- Final contour visible at 3–6 months
Risks & considerations
Risks include contour irregularities, infection, seroma, skin necrosis, and deep vein thrombosis. Larger-volume procedures carry additional pulmonary risks.
